Mel
Mel Braneff is the Production Manager for DV Masters. and has worked in the broadcast industry for 32 years. After graduating from the Career Academy of Broadcast in 1972 he became a disc jockey. After a move to television in the late ‘70’s, he was hired by the Postal Service where he produced training, safety, and promotional videos. During his tenure with the Postal Service, he rose to the position of Audio/Visual Manager for Southern Region.
After completing the “Film and Television Production” school at the Bolger Academy in Potomac Maryland and the “Corporate Video Production” course from IFTW in Rockport Maine, Mel formed the independent production company, Media Creations, Inc. located in Dallas Texas. Although the primary function of Media Creations was still training and safety, Mel began to produce music videos. Combining the structured approach of training tapes with the free-flowing feel of rhythm and blues brought a style to the industry that had not been seen before.
After the birth of his first grandchild, Mel re-located to Midland Texas where he brought a professional approach to event, industrial, and music videos. For four years he was the booster of the Midland High Bulldogs Booster club, producing weekly highlights, individual recruiting DVDs, and an end of the year program.
In 2006 Media Creations, Inc. became Digital Video Masters of El Paso and Mel has formed a mutually satisfactory relationship with business and athletic entities in El Paso.
